2024

1 January 2024:

The Gregorian new year begins.

20 January:

We have returned home from our trip for rockhounding in Arizona.

The snow conditions have caused much bending of the back porch awning and we have had to remove the excessive amount of wet snow

I continue putting a lot of effort into development of this site and map development.

29 January:

Lindea and I are planning our spring and summer events and travels for rockhounding in Oregon.

21 February:

Today I received my final eye laser treatment from Dr. Yap. I'm now seeing very clearly and should need no more procedures on my eyes for the rest of my life.
I have an appointment on 7 March to get an examination for reading glasses.
I'd like to get a pair of half-moon progressive (2x - 3x) reading glasses but the possibility looks dim.

22 April:

I plan to leave for Nanjing, China tomorrow.
I'm getting ready! Some things yet to do!

25 April - 15 May:

In China

15 May:

I'm back home

28 May:

Hoping for a fall trip around the world

21 June:

Bought airline tickets for the trip to Uzbekistan and registered for the Koryo tour.

27 July:

I've finished the replacement of Lindea's 220v 1hp continuous service rock saw motor, now working at 110v.

Continuing to develop China train maps, among other things.

Many efforts have gone into the Uzbekistan trip. I've tried to make a money transfer to ensure my place on the Koryo Tour but have been stymied by my credit union due to the fact that it is a China based company focused on North Korea.
I have agreed with Nick Bonner to pay the full cost of the trip upon arrival in Tashkent.

I continue to focus on my friendship with the fullness of humanity as one family and build bridges for hard to reach places, though I do much of it alone. I see myself as a member of the human population of the earth, not as a part of a favoured group.

15 August:

I continue working on the basement bathroom, along with webpage and map development.

29 September:

I'm spending the night in the trailer with my wife and her twin sister in the driveway of the families of their youngest sister in Pontypool Ontario.

I drove Robert from Kelowna to Strathroy Ontario over a period of more than 4 days and stayed there for 2 nights with his wife, who flew back from Kelowna, and her grandparents. Then I drove here alone.

Lindea and I will leave here on Tuesday and head home to Kelowna with a little rockhounding along the way, especially for amethyst near Thunder Bay.

8 November:

I've almost completed my trip in Uzbekistan. It has been a real eye-opener and wonderful.

Tomorrow morning I'll take a taxi to the airport about 6:30am

13 November:

I'm at home after my trip to Uzbekistan. I'm suffering from diarrhea and will go to the walk-in clinic at Capri today. I've made an appointment to see my doctor but I don't want to wait until next Monday.

17 December:

I'm still less than fully recovered from the sickness I got in Uzbekistan but feeling much better.

I've started working on the design of the page for 2025.
