May vacation trip to Guangdong

I travelled by train with a hard berth from Nanjing just after midnight 1 May and arrived in Guangzhou about 28.5 hours later at 4:30 AM, 2 May.

I tried to get a ticket back for Sunday but found that they don't go on sale until tomorrow. It was so early in the morning that I decided to walk to the hotel where I have a reservation. It took more than 2 hours to walk the distance plus the time to get breakfast with coffee on the way.

I got near the location of the hotel and found it after showing the address to 3 helpful people nearby. The web site only states that it is a 2 minute walk from the east railway station.

I checked in early (before 10 am) without any trouble and the room looks clean and comfortable. I hear trains hooting nearby and wonder if it will disturb my sleep during the next two nights.

I write this and then intend to go out for the day.
